Services

Everything a lift needs,
from one team.

Repairs, modernisation, emergency breakdown cover, planned maintenance, cleaning and statutory compliance, on any make of passenger, goods or platform lift.

01 / Lift Repairs

Repairs that hold

Most repeat breakdowns are a symptom being treated instead of a cause. We diagnose the root fault, quote it in writing, and fix it properly.

  • Door operators, gear, locks and safety edges, the cause of most passenger lift faults
  • Controllers and drive units, including obsolete systems no longer supported by the installer
  • Hydraulic power packs, valves, seals and ram servicing
  • Ropes, sheaves, guides, gearboxes and brake overhaul
  • Emergency communication and autodialler repairs
  • Itemised fixed-price quotes, with parts and labour separated, before work starts
02 / Lift Modernisation

A new lift, without a new lift

A tired lift rarely needs replacing outright. Modernising the parts that actually fail buys years of reliable service for a fraction of the cost and a fraction of the downtime.

  • Control system replacement, the single biggest gain in reliability on an older lift
  • Variable-speed drive upgrades for smoother, quieter travel and lower energy use
  • Door equipment renewal, where the majority of callouts originate
  • Car interiors, lighting, fixtures and signalling
  • Accessibility improvements: audible announcements, tactile buttons, handrails and mirrors
  • Phased programmes that keep the lift in service between stages wherever possible

Standards and regulations referenced in any modernisation proposal are confirmed against the current edition at survey stage.

03 / Lift Breakdowns

24/7 emergency response

Lifts fail at inconvenient hours. One number reaches us at any hour of any day, and entrapments go to the front of the queue ahead of all other work.

  • Passenger entrapment treated as absolute priority, day or night
  • Answered by someone who can dispatch an engineer, not a message-taking service
  • Out-of-hours, weekend and bank holiday cover at no separate retainer
  • Engineers carry common failure parts, so many faults are cleared on the first visit
  • Written report after every callout: cause, action taken, and anything still outstanding
04 / Breakdown Prevention

Planned maintenance that earns its fee

The cheapest breakdown is the one that never happens. Visit frequency is set by how hard the lift actually works. A busy residential block and a rarely used goods lift should not be on the same schedule.

  • Scheduled servicing with the interval matched to usage, age and traffic
  • Wear monitored across visits, so parts are replaced before they strand anyone
  • Condition reports for budgeting: what will need money this year, and what will need it next
  • Agreements with no long tie-in period
06 / LOLER & Compliance

Examinations, and the defects that follow

The thorough examination itself is carried out by your insurer's inspector, independently of us, and that is how it should be. What tends to go wrong is afterwards: a report lands listing defects, nobody prices them, and the same list appears again six months later.

  • An engineer attends alongside the inspector, so the lift is opened up and tested properly on the day
  • Defects from the report priced line by line, separated into what has to be done now and what can wait
  • Remedial work carried out and signed off, so the next report starts clean
  • Examination dates tracked, six-monthly for passenger lifts and twelve-monthly for goods lifts, so one is never missed
  • Paperwork kept together and ready for an insurer, a managing agent or a leaseholder who asks to see it
05 / Cleaning & Decontamination

Cleaning is breakdown prevention

Debris in sills and door tracks is one of the commonest reasons doors fail to close, and doors are behind most call-outs. Clearing the shaft, pit, car top and tracks takes faults away before they happen, which is why our own engineers do it rather than a cleaning contractor.

  • Scheduled cleaning of shaft, pit, car top, door tracks and machine room
  • Flooded pits pumped dry, as an emergency or on a planned basis
  • Sharps, bird fouling and contamination cleared with the right equipment
  • Antimicrobial treatment and graffiti removal for car interiors
  • Before and after photographs and a written report with every job
Lift Cleaning Services
How It Works

From first call to signed off

  1. Call or enquire

Tell us the building, the lift and the symptom. Emergencies are dispatched immediately.

  2. Survey

An engineer attends, diagnoses the actual cause, and records the condition of the lift.

  3. Written quote

Parts and labour itemised, with options where there is a genuine choice to make.

  4. Work and report

Completed to an agreed date, written up in plain English with anything outstanding flagged.

Not Sure Which You Need?

Describe the problem.
We will tell you straight.

Sometimes the answer is a repair, sometimes a modernisation, and occasionally it is neither. We will say which, including when the honest answer is to do nothing yet.
