Cleaning

Clean lifts break down
less often.

Shaft, pit, car top and door track cleaning, flooded pit pumping and decontamination, carried out by our own engineers rather than a cleaning contractor who has never been inside a lift shaft.

Scheduled cleaning

Shaft, pit, car top, door tracks and machine room, on a six-monthly or annual cycle.

Why It Matters

Not housekeeping. Maintenance.

A clean lift is not a cosmetic point. Most of what we clear is the direct cause of a fault, a hazard to the engineer who has to work in there, or both.

Fewer door faults

Debris in sills and door tracks is one of the commonest reasons doors stick or fail to close, and doors are behind most passenger lift call-outs. Clearing them removes the fault before it strands anyone.

Safer to work in

A car top used as storage, or a pit holding water and sharps, is a working area nobody should have to climb into. Clearing it is the first step of an honest maintenance visit, not an extra.

Evidence on file

Every clean is photographed before and after and written up, so there is something to hand an insurer, a managing agent or a leaseholder who asks what the money went on.

01 / Scheduled Cleaning

Shaft, pit, car top and doors

A full clean from the headroom down to the pit floor, or any part of it on its own. Six-monthly suits a busy residential block or office; a quiet goods lift rarely needs more than annually.

  • Shaft deep clean: walls, brackets, guide rails, metalwork and car top, which cuts the dust and grime reaching moving parts
  • Car top clear-out: rubbish, stored materials, packaging, loose components and oil-soaked debris removed and the area degreased, which also takes away a fire load
  • Pit clean: litter, dust, oil and grease cleared, floor and buffers cleaned, so waste and moisture are not sitting against the equipment at the bottom of the shaft
  • Door tracks and landing doors: sills and tracks cleared, doors cleaned inside and out, on every floor
  • Machine room: dust removed, floors and surfaces degreased, and anything stored in there that should not be
  • Booked alongside a maintenance visit where possible, so the lift comes out of service once rather than twice
02 / Water

Flooded pits, pumped dry

Heavy rain, rising groundwater, a leak or a burst pipe puts water in the pit, and the lift stays out of service until it is dry. We attend as an emergency or on a planned basis where a pit floods every winter.

  • Pit pumped dry so the lift can be inspected and put back in service
  • Equipment at the bottom of the shaft cleaned down and checked for water damage
  • Recurring flooding investigated rather than pumped out every month
  • Available as an emergency callout on the 24/7 line, alongside breakdowns
03 / Hazardous & Contamination

Sharps, fouling and contamination

Lift pits in some buildings collect things nobody should put a hand near. Our own engineers clear them with the right protective equipment, as a one-off or on a standing schedule where it keeps happening.

  • Needles, drug paraphernalia and similar waste cleared from pits and car tops
  • Bird and vermin fouling, nesting material and contamination cleared from shafts, pits, car tops and machine rooms, then disinfected
  • A standing schedule for sites with a recurring problem, so it is dealt with before an engineer finds it mid-service
  • Done by the engineers who are in the shaft anyway, rather than a third party who has to be escorted and inducted
04 / Car Interiors

The part everybody sees

The shaft is ours. The car interior is the bit your residents, staff and visitors judge the building by.

  • Antimicrobial coating applied to buttons, handrails and panels, which suits hospitals, care homes and other high traffic buildings
  • Graffiti and marks removed from car interiors, doors and landing areas without damaging stainless steel or coated finishes
  • Finishes cleaned and polished as part of any scheduled visit
Every Job

Photographed before and after

Cleaning is easy to invoice and hard to prove, which is why every job comes with the evidence attached rather than on request.

  • Before and after photographs of every area cleaned
  • A short written report naming what was done, and anything found that needs attention
  • Yours to forward to insurers, managing agents or leaseholders
